From October 10 to November 2, 2025, the PROTOTYP automotive museum in Hamburg’s HafenCity will dedicate a special exhibition to the Citroën DS, affectionately known as the “goddess.” The occasion is the 70th anniversary of its world premiere on October 6, 1955, at the Paris Motor Show. With its avant–garde design language and forward–looking technology, the DS set new standards and is still considered a milestone in automotive history.
Under the title “70 Years of Citroën DS,” five extraordinary vehicles are presented, illustrating the diversity and mythology of this model:
A very early, still original DS 19 from 1956
The spectacular replica of the flying Fantômas–DS
An original 1969 DS 21 Pallas
A very rare 1972 Chapron Coupe DS 21 “Le Léman“
The unique DS convertible “Le Caddy Special” created for the 100th anniversary of Chapron
Large–format historical photographs, including rare shots from the 1955 world premiere, as well as concise accompanying texts, convey the technical and design significance of this iconic automobile to the museum’s visitors.
The exhibition can be visited every day from 10 am to 6 pm from October 10 to November 2, 2025, because in October 2025 the museum is also open on Mondays!
