November 2011 – Dear friends. Our Porsche Type 64 “Berlin Rome Car” became “CAR OF THE YEAR” at the International Historic Motoring Awards on November 16, 2011!
That evening, prices in 12 different categories were presented to honor individuals, institutions and projects. For example, Sir Stirling Moss got the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his life’s work after he had finally retired from racing this year.
Another highlight of the evening was the honoring of AUTOMUSEUM PROTOTYP. An international jury, consisting of distinguished members of the racing and automotive scene as the multiple Le Mans winner Derek Bell and the U.S. show star and collector Jay Leno, chose the museum among the five finalists in the category “Museum or Collection of the Year”. The first prize went to the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, USA.
At the awards ceremony in London, the two PROTOTYP founder Oliver Schmidt and Thomas König received the award.
The whole Team PROTOTYP is grateful to all who have voted for the “Berlin-Rome Car”.
Hope to see you soon at AUTOMUSEUM PROTOTYP!
Your Team PROTOTYP
