AT NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

THE "LANGE NACHT DER MUSEEN 2009" EVENT

June 2009 – Till the wee hours of the morning car enthusiasts could gaze at the PROTOTYP-collection at the HafenCity in Hamburg. With one Ticket interested people could visit nearly every museum in Hamburg during March 16 at 6pm and March 17 at 2am. At this night over 3.500 people visited Automuseum PROTOTYP!

For the little ones the night started a bit earlier. Till 6pm they could drive in small motorcars on the Junior Training Area by JUMICAR which was built up at the courtyard of the PROTOTYP building.

Then the night started with the opening of the Futuristic Cabinet, a special exhibition dedicated to the centennial jubilee of the Futuristic Manifest by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. During the whole summer this exhibition shows yesterday’s futuristic cars like the rocket car RAK 2 by Opel from 1928.

Discourses, guided tours, futuristic cuisine à la Marinetti and futuristic live music created a fantastic atmosphere which mediates the ardour for automobile rarities.

So Automuseum PROTOTYP says: See you next year at the “Lange Nacht der Museen”!
